This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Car Fund. For a quarter of a century, we have been supplying priests, religious and church workers with brand new and pre-owned cars at very favourable rates, along with a range of support services.
Since it was established in 1982, the Car Fund has gone from strength to strength. It began as the Archdiocesan Car Fund in 1982, and then expanded to become the Diocesan Car Fund and, finally, the Diocesan Car Fund Trust, supplying a choice of vehicles to more and more members throughout New Zealand.
The Car Fund is non-profit-making, with all benefits channelled back to the members through the cars they receive.
The key beneficiaries of the Fund are the members themselves but the motor industry has also been a big winner from the scheme.
On average the Car Fund has purchased 100 new cars per annum which is great news for car manufacturers and New Zealand franchise suppliers. In total, we have purchased more than 2,000-plus New Zealand-new motor vehicles, making us one of New Zealand’s largest group purchasers of motor vehicles.
As we look ahead to the next 25 years, we are keen to build an even stronger rapport with the motor industry in New Zealand. We invite you to be part of a great future together.
Thanks to the New Zealand Motor Industry for a very successful partnership with the Car Fund.
of vehicle purchasing. They provide us with practical, safe and economical vehicles and I recommend membership for diocesan priests.”
