About the Fund

The Diocesan Car Fund Trust is a unique, New Zealand-wide enterprise. We have a fleet of 350 new and pre-owned cars which gives us real purchasing power. That means big discounts that we can pass on to you. We also arrange car insurance and service contracts that will save you time as well as money.

The Trust was set up by the Catholic Church over 25 years ago. With our extensive experience of car purchasing and management, we are ideally placed to advise you on the vehicle that is best for you. We can help you avoid the pitfalls of the open car market and take the hassle out of motoring.

These benefits have already been extended to many priests, bishops, religious, chaplains, pastoral workers and church employees.

By pooling resources, everyone benefits. You get a great deal and, with the Car Fund managing your car or fleet, you are free of the worries often associated with car ownership and replacement.

History

Since it was established in 1982, the Car Fund has gone from strength to strength. It began as the Archdiocesan Car Fund in 1982, then expanded to become the Diocesan Car Fund and, finally, the Diocesan Car Fund Trust, supplying a choice of vehicles to more and more members throughout New Zealand.

Over that time it has enjoyed stable management, with General Manager Ray Lindsay at the helm since 1988.

In recent times, the Car Fund has been strengthened by the participation of other Christian churches.
