- Membership costs:
- Member pays $500 (incl GST) joining fee.
- Membership of group or community service organisations $250 (incl GST).
- A member may leave and rejoin the Car Fund at a later date at no cost.
- The vehicle is registered in the name of the Diocesan Car Fund Trust for GST purposes and the Member is issued with a Membership Certificate that shows the amount invested (initial Loan Contribution for supply of vehicle).
- Member is acknowledged as being responsible for servicing and up-keep of vehicle including Warrant of Fitness.
- The net cost of the first vehicle (new or pre-owned) becomes the Member’s Loan Contribution.
- Thereafter an annual levy of $4,500.00 which is comprised of a replacement levy of $3,740.00 plus administration fee of $760.00 (both GST inclusive).
- The Member pays full relicensing fees as charged by NZTA, currently $211.84 (incl GST).
- The vehicle is insured with the Car Fund’s selected insurers. Average cost $630.00 (incl GST).
- Car Fund administration assists with claims advice.
- Where possible, loan car available.
- If write-off, prompt issue of replacement vehicle.
- On the winding up of the Car Fund, Members may receive a refund of less than, but no greater than, their Loan Contribution.
- Should the Member wish to withdraw from Membership (3 months notice) or the Car Fund ceases, and they wish to retain their vehicle, they are responsible for paying:
- GST due on the value of their vehicle on the day they withdraw or the Car Fund ceases (not purchase price).
- all outstanding accounts.
- Membership of the Diocesan Car Fund Trust provides access to other discounted services.
- From time to time the Trustees may alter the Terms of Membership to reflect market movement.
- Cancellation of Membership – in withdrawing from the Diocesan Car Fund Trust (or advising cancellation of Membership) at least 6 months’ notice is preferred although a minimum 3 months’ notice may be accepted by the Trustees following negotiations between both parties.
